Charles Jeffrey Allagood

February 27, 1961 - August 10, 2015

Charles Jeffrey Allagood

Charles Jeffrey Allagood (Jeff) passed away on August 10, 2015 at Memorial University Medical Center after an acute illness. He was born in Baxley, Georgia and lived in Jacksonville Beach working with real estate before returning to Baxley where he spent his most recent years.

Jeff was a graduate of Georgia Southern University. He was an enthusiastic and loyal brother of the Pi Kappa Phi social fraternity, whose members remained some of his best friends. He enjoyed working with youth, starting as swim coach in high school, and later worked as a counselor with Baxley Wilderness and as a Little League football referee. He was life-long member of the Baxley First United Methodist Church.

Jeff was preceded in death by his father Jack D. Allagood. Survivors include his mother, Janice Riner Allagood of Baxley and his sister and brother-in-law, Jill and Richard J. Rogers of Castle Pines, CO. He was dearly loved by his several first cousins, aunts, and friends.

Visitation begins at 1:00 p.m. at the Baxley First United Methodist Church, followed directly by a Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 15. Any donations in lieu of flowers may be sent to the Jack Allagood Scholarship Fund at the Baxley FUMC, 217 S. Main Street, Baxley, GA 31513.

We were saddened to learn of your loved one's passing. We did not know Jeff by name, but enjoyed waving at him on the front porch as we walked our sons' dogs down Fair St. He was frequently there, and we became accustomed to seeing him from the sidewalk across the street. Turns out that Jill worked in our office years ago, maybe as a high school intern. Please accept our deepest condolences.
